Week 99-100 Recipe!

This challenge will last for two weeks over the festivities and we have decided to start our Christmas celebrations with a whizz and have chosen
DRINKS
as our recipe.
You can choose tea, coffee, water, sodas, alcohol of course if you wish, in fact any drink at all... but all of us...Chrissie, Mandi and Jen would like to wish all of you a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
Cheers!

For my first card this week I have used a simple Pink Petticoat image from the Happily Ever After set and simple coloured in the hearts with a red pro-marker and added some glamour dust into each glass to look like bubbly... The sentiment was added in word.  I have them mounted onto red pearl card base...   Nice and simple..

For my second card it's more signature me with the stitching and the kraft card stock.  The sentiment and image are from Paper Smooches Cyber Cafe set.  I have used whisper white ink pad for the steam and cocoa memento ink for the sentiment and cup.  The cup is then mounted on a couple of foam pads.  I've done a little rough stitching around the edges and mounted onto kraft card.

This card is made totally  with Stampin' Up products (apart from the cardstock that is). The stamp set is Tea Shoppe, stamped with Wisteria Wonder ink, the small pansy stamp being coloured using SU markers.
The sentiment was punched using the Modern Label punch. The embossing was done with the Manhattan Flower Folder.
Here's another SU card.
The glass is from the Cheers to You set and the sentiment (carefully placed to flow on from the cocktail stick, using my Lego positioner) is from the Wonderful Words set, both of which I believe are now retired.
I have a few more drinky type cards on my personal blog and I'd love you to pop by and see the others I have done there.
A Happy Christmas to you all!

Hello, Mandi here!
No card from me, but, I wanted to personally pop by and wish you all a happy Christmas,

Week 98 Anniversary

We have a theme for you this week and it is
ANNIVERSARY
You don't necessarily need to have the word Anniversary on the card but we'd like it to be suitable for the occasion.

The choice of theme this week is most indulgent on my part, as today is my 39th Wedding Anniversary.
I don't think I'll be getting a card from my husband until a little later in the day... it was raining yesterday and being a last minute merchant as far as card buying is concerned, he didn't want to go out and get wet...so he hasn't got one yet. He has made dinner reservations however and I know which I prefer.
Here's my card for him!
I don't remember the make of the stamp, but it's a polymer one I bought on eBay many a day ago. It's coloured with Promarkers and mounted on Nesties popped up on a few dimensionals. The sentiment is computer generated in Andalus and Passions Conflict fonts. (I often is the latter font for weddingly cards... bit of an ironic name!)
This card was made for some friends of ours whose anniversary is on Monday. Once we discovered that our   respective anniversaries were so close we have been out for a meal with them to have a joint celebration for each of the last 20 or 30 years. (I don't remember exactly how many!)
For this card I heat embossed three pieces of card, one with the script stamp, one with the paisley and one with the manuscript, which I then proceeded to die-cut with the Die-Namics hexagon die. These were mounted on the larger hexagons cut in silver.
The flourish is from Marianne's I believe and the  sentiment is is from a Woodware stamp.
There are a few more examples on my personal blog!
For this weeks theme I wanted to try something a little different.  For my first card I printed the words "One Year On" in typewriter style font and then using the Stampin' Up heart punch I cut red pearl card and then added the hearts by using my sewing machine down the centre.  It's finished by rounding off a corner. Simple, but lots of white space!!

For the second card, I printed a simple sentiment and then placed the card into a Stampin' UP embossing folder, just trimming it to fit the card blank in the same colour.  It's finished off with some SU wisteria wonder twine. Sorry the photo isn't great, pearl card looks fab IRL but not so much in the photos.
Not many sleeps left until Christmas now, I hope everyone's preparations are well under way.
Do join us in this challenge, we're always amazed by the wealth of talent amongst LIMettes!
Have a great week.

One Layer Week 97

Everyone's favourite!
It's
ONE LAYER WEEK
There was a time when the thought of this challenge struck fear into the hearts of crafters around the globe, but now it seems that the ONE LAYER CARD holds no fear for LIMettes far and wide.
For our challenge this week we have the title
IN A ROW
This challenge is just as the title implies...a one layer card with something or other in a row... take your pick, it could be anything, just use your imagination!

So I have a couple of cards for you today and when I first saw the theme I thought about the phrase "getting your ducks in a row" so that is what inspired my first card..  I simply printed the Pollycraft digi onto a kraft card base and then coloured in with my Prismas... It's finished off with some seam binding from The Ribbon Girl and I have rounded off opposite corners.
My second card is using a paper smooches set that I got from My Mums Craft Shop. I lined up the snowmen and robin on a large stamp block and stamped straight onto the card.  I then added a cheeky moustache from the extras in the set.  It's been coloured in with Promarkers and a sentiment added from the same set.  I finished it off with some doodling, a little Stickles on the robin and some liquid pearls for the snowman's buttons.

This is a crafty Individuals stamp, stamped in Whisper White on kraft cardstock and then clear embossed, with the buildings coloured in neutral shades using watercolour pencils and a water brush.
I couldn't decide on a sentiment... any suggestions?

This is my old favourite layout, with an embossed band added for good measure!
Three Hot off the Press snowflakes all in a row, with a few splodges from French Foliage added to accompany them. All heat embossed and then inked.
The sentiment is from Penny Black but sadly I've forgotten where the Christmas tree border embossing folder is from.
This week I have put up some new shelves in my craft room and assembled a new IKEA desk. I'll post a few pics on my personal blog, the shelves even ended up level!
Whatever next!
Do join us, this could be an excuse for a few more Christmas cards.
I guess we all need to get our 'ducks in a row' in readiness for the Christmas festivities.
Here's your chance!
Have a great week everyone!

Week 96 Colour Challenge

A new month, a new challenge, a new sponsor!
We are delighted to have
MY MUM'S CRAFT SHOP
as our Sponsor for December
My Mum's Craft Shop
Do check out their supplies... and their service is second to none!

You knew it would be a colour challenge, we wonder if anyone guessed correctly!
We won't keep you in suspense any longer... it's
RED & GREEN
Very seasonal, very traditional...  what novel ideas will emerge this week?

Chrissie

This is a little stamp from Tim Holtz, Stampers Anonymous, coloured with SU marker pens then stamped and clear embossed to bring out the colours.
I stamped on the reverse side of the card which was  taken from the waste when making the card blank from a sheet of A4. Using the flat side adds a little contrast to the overall textural effect, plus it lends itself to a clearer print.
The surround was embossed with the next larger sized  Nestie square.

This is a Sizzix mistletoe die-cut, embellished with a few pearls and mounted on a deep red, stripy textured piece of card and with mount cut with a Stampin' Up edging die. The Penny Black sentiment echoes the shape of the die-cut.
Jen
So for my first card this week I decided to use Memory Box letters die (Typeface) and the Die-Namics numbers to cut out an aperture for the Dec 25. I love these, because unlike Sizzix alphas you can cut letters out of card one at a time.
I then back this with a glittery red background by adding pva to some white card and sprinkling with red glitter. I then simply added some twine from the Ribbon Girl and a little holly leaf from a Martha Stewart punch and then finished it with a red pearl.

For my second I used a simple technique of embossing the card blank itself.  The embossing folder is from a Sizzix set although I am unsure which one -I wish they had the names on them. All new ones I get I use a sharpie to add the name so I know but I have had this one a couple of years. The twine is again from the Ribbon Girl and I think it just finishes it off.... very simple card but very effective!

We saw some really glamorous cards last week, maybe we'll have some Christmassy ones this week... or maybe something else!!!!
Do join us... and please remember to keep it Clean and Simple!
The winner of last month's prize will be announced very soon, do check back!
