Here are a handful that caught our eye....well done ladies!
Know you will love them too!

Thank you as always to everyone, you rise to whatever we throw at you with such creativity!

Week 82 Recipe

Gosh can you believe it's the last week of August! It's a holiday one for us in the UK and no doubt it will be raining. Hope you all enjoy it, whatever you are doing! OK, so onto our challenge this week it's a
RECIPE
3 - 2 - 1
This week we have a simple idea for you to use as the focus of your cards.
All that you need to do is to incorporate 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something else!

Sound easy? Let's hope so!
Please indicate in your posting exactly what your 3, 2 & 1 items are... don't keep us guessing
Here are ours

This card uses my new Baby Prints set from SU.
I have 3 words
(bit of a cheat really as the first one is made up of two words abbreviated into one)
2 Hands
1 Ribbon
For this one I have made a heat embossed background with  Hero Arts stamp embossed with three different embossing powders.  There are also three pearls on the one butterfly, beside the two squares.

Mandi

3 flowers [or colours] 2 Buttons, 1 Aperture [or sentiment]

Quite a tricky recipe this week, especially keeping the design CAS too!
I opted for old Anita's stamps and using Stampin up Melon Mambo, Basic Grey and Old Olive I stamped the flowers, adding glitter to the solid one. The buttons were stuck to the centres to finish.
To get the apeture, using my Stampin Up stamp a ma jig I could determine the position of the Happy Birthday, made a pencil line at either end, then punched the Stampin Window Punch to create the long aperture.
[Actually took longer to explain than do!!]

3 Squares, 2 words, 1 gem
Stampin Up hearts stamped and punched out with Stamping Up Postage Stamp.
With Love computer generated. [Papyrus and Smitten Kitten fonts]

I do have a couple more examples on my personal blog.
Thank you for the few that do pop over to visit me, I really appreciate it

Enjoy this week, there's SO much scope...probably our most flexible yet!

Fur or Feathers ShowCASe

It's Friday and that means that it's time for another wonderful ShowCASe of LIMettes fabulous work.
Here are some superb examples from our Fur or Feathers week.
What a wonderfully imaginative bunch you all are!
Without further ado here they are!

Gorgeous creations, we're sure you'll agree.
Many apologies for the tardiness of commenting from Chrissie during the past seven days... a  wonderful cruise to Norway kinda got in the way!
Do join us tomorrow for another Clean and Simple challenge.

Week 81 Theme

Hello LIMettes
Life in the UK is a little flat since the excitement of the Olympics. Weren't they FAB!
Team GB did so well!
Onto our challenge this week and it's a theme.
We want to see
Tearing
This can be in any form, but, as subtle or as bold as you like!

Mandi

I decided to use a stamp set that remind me of 'tiles' the swish kind you see in luxurious hotels!
IThey are from La Blanche a 'foam backed' set I purchased years ago from QVC. I stamped the lady with Versafine Onyx Blank, onto a piece of card, then cut round her and torn the bottom, snipping the bottom corner, hoping for the broken tile effect! I then triple embossed her, again to resemble a tile. If you cn see I have added a few tiny pearls onto toe flourishes. One is stamped off the edge, the other goes around the spine of the card slightly.
I decided not to use a sentiment as I don;t think it needs one, do you?

Chrissie
I tore three shades of green paper all at once for the hills in this little scene and then arranged the pieces in the most realistic way I could, with the deepest shade for the distance and the lightest in the foreground.
The tree is a stamp from Chocolate Baroque, with a little inked sky and some additional script overstamping it and a few of my favourite splats from the SU French Foliage set..
The embossed panel is from a Sizzix folder and the sentiment from Hero Arts.
The torn panels on this card are remnants of the embossing from one of my cards on our Blue and Green Colour challenge week, simply edged with Versamerk and embossed with gold powder. The bird is from Stampin' Up, stamped in Night of Navy, and has been similarly edged with gold.
It's difficult to see but the background panel has been embossed with a Cuttlebug random dots folder.

Hope you enjoy this challenge, we can't wait to see your creations.

ShowCASe Week 79 Blue and Green

Time for another fabulous showcase to highlight some of the wonderful work submitted by our lovely LIMettes.

It's a joy to see so many superb creations, so without any further ado here they are.

What a wonderful array, we're sure you'll agree.
Do please take the ShowCASe badge from the page at the top to display on your blogs.
See you tomorrow for our new challenge!

Week 80 - One Layer

What wonderful blues and greens we saw last week, but now it's time for your very favourite
ONE LAYER CARD
and this time the subject of your creations should feature
FUR or FEATHERS
(This should give you plenty of scope.)
As ever, please don't forget that white space and keep any embellishments to a minimum.
Here are our examples, but please don't forget to visit our personal blogs, as very often you can see extra examples for each challenge there.

Don't you just love these chickens?
The image is from Penny Black, simply coloured with Copics and the sentiment is from Personal Impressions.
A similar layout to the first card, but this cuddly bear is from Indigo Blu, masked and over-stamped with the background stamp from Great Impressions with a sentiment from Hero Arts.

Here is a stamp from Unity, stamped twice without re-inking, on a masked oval, inked with SU Almost Amethyst and Bashful Blue inks. There's just a little interest added to the background with a splat stamp from SU's French Foliage stamp set. Once more the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Mandi
It's amazing that with all the thousands of stamp designs, Chrissie and I have, for the following week, used the same stamp! We don't find out until we set the posts!
I stamped Indigo Blu 'ted' in Stampin Up Soft Suede, then the CTMH 'Hi' in Calypso Coral as is the little bow on teddys ear!

/or maybe fur AND feathers!!
This stamp is a newer acquisition for me I LOVE it. It is Stampotique 'Under the Parapluie'
I stamped centrally with Versafine Onyx I'm not too sure if this stamp is meant as a 'rainy' scene or a sunny one, but, it said sunny to me! I masked part of the stamped design and inked a sun through a circle with Distress Ink Mustard Seed,  I then gently water coloured the image in 'quirky' colours. I know I freaked a few of you with my blue cat, so scroll down quickly....

My last card is 'me' I LOVE flamingos. I inked random circles with Distrsss Inks
Dusty Concord, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade
The sentiment is computer generated. The flamingo make escapes me as it;s a clear stamp and I have mounted it onto wood, hence no name. Gems and glitter to finish!

Week 79 Colour

It's real olympic fever in the UK at the moment.
It's super watching all the varied sports on our TVs with many new world records being set. It makes you wonder just how fast 'man' is going to get in the future!

As it is the first of the month and colour we have chosen
Blue & Green

There is an old saying
Blue & Green should not be seen, Unless there's a colour inbetween!
In this day and age no colour combo is taboo, in some cases the wilder the better.

You may wish to go natural, with summer blue skies and green foliage or quirky, snazzy,
navy and lime. It's completely up to you, we cannot wait to see what you come up with.

As it's a new month we have a new sponsor.
Flonzcraft is an online store in New Zealand, shipping is reasonably priced and very swift!
(Chrissie has used some of their stamps on her Crafter Stamper projects.)
They have a vast array of stamps and we are sure you will like what you see there.

The lucky winner will receive a $20 voucher to spend online
As a bonus, Leo from Flonz is offering 12% discount to ANYONE who emails a card to display in their gallery. Offer code LIMAD [expires November 1st 2012]

** NB this is only open to those who send a card for their gallery !! **

Here are our cards

I used a Flonz branch stamp for my square panel, stamped with Versamark and embossed with WOW clear embossing powder. Using a sponge dauber and Tumbled Glass Distress ink I sponged from the edges, fading into the centre. The sentiment is Stampin' Up in Pear Pizazz. The butterflies are Martha Stewart also in SU Pear Pizazz and the same distress ink for the larger butterfly. Two small blue gems to finish.

A different blue cat!
Funstamps 'Misty' I adore this stamp, I've had it years. Rather quirky in blue, but things like that appeal to me....how about you? The sentiment is Penny Black and stamped in SU Lucky Limeade to match the eyes. I used glossy accents on the eyes to finish.

We like butterflies don't we!
Here is a tiny panel, inked with a Duster brush in Lucky Limeade and when dry, stamped  with an Indigo Blu stamp using Versamark and clear embossed. The blues, Pacific Point and Night of Navy were added with the deepest shade at the top fading towards the foliage at the bottom.
It's mounted on a slightly larger mat inked directly from the pad to complement the colours on the panel.
The SU butterflies was punched from the excess of the card which remained after the panel had been die-cut and then glittered with a little Glamour Dust.
Mandi and I don't know what the other will produce for any of our challenges until we load them onto the post, but often there are similarities between them. Here we have both used the same Flonz stamp and then added butterflies... great minds think alike so they say!
My sentiment, from SU, is mounted on a cut down Spellbinder notched rectangle die-cut.

This is much more delicate looking, with an image from Hero Arts, inked with SU Markers in two shades of blue and green and mounted on an embossed panel, with a deep blue edging.
The gorgeous sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Apothecary Art set.
We have additional samples on our personal blogs so do please hop on over and pay us a visit... we like comments too!
Be as inventive as you like, but DO remember that white space and keep it Clean and Simple!
